About Aleisha Rose
My name is Aleisha Rose and I am a painter, and photographer based in South East Queensland, where I live surrounded by a vast natural environment.
Driven by a desire to create from an early age, I have developed a passion for oil painting and capturing a fleeting moment through photography. In a world constantly in motion, I aim to address the still poetics of everyday life, capturing the moment by portraying a glimpse of what is remembered.
The Art
In the studio, I use oils and cyanotype photographic processes to bring life to vivid imaginations of the small moments. Broadly, my work aims to capture a glimpse of connection and beauty found through everyday memories and environments; encouraging both myself and the viewer, to delve completely into the present.
My work is built upon using detailed brush work and surrealist compositions to exude a sense of familiarity and whimsy. As my inspiration, native florals and the colour blue intertwine primarily throughout my art, influenced by the scenery I experience day to day.
