Artwork Statement: 

Growing up in the Redlands Coast on Quandamooka land, I’ve always been surrounded by a vast expanse of woodlands and flora, witnessing the changing of seasons by the flower in current bloom. Year after year as the trees and plants living beside me continue to grow, change, and adapt, I do the same. ‘July’s End’ is a self portrait reflecting on a brief moment in time, capturing a shared fleeting moment of existence and affiliation between myself and the native environment. Evoking feelings of connection and consciousness, the portrait and emerging flora depicted act as mementoes of the people and places experienced at this point in time of late winter, that cannot be captured again.
